What is TMJ Syndrome?
TMJ syndrome can be characterized by the clicking and popping sounds you hear and feel in your jaw during eating, yawning, swallowing, or speaking. Clicking and popping could indicate an abnormal position of the disc. TMJ sufferers can feel pain when opening the mouth may favor one side and open their mouths awkwardly to avoid irritating their bad side causing your teeth to not come together correctly.

Causes of TMJ Syndrome
Missing teeth, stress, and grinding of the teeth (Bruxism), jaw clenching, and tightening of the jaw muscles during sleep. Stress is often a major contributing factor in jaw grinding and clenching throughout the day. 
Other causes can be blunt force trauma to the jaw related to an auto accident, a fall on a hard surface or getting hit in the chin. 
In some cases, there may be Arthritis in the joint. TMJ stands for temporomandibular joint, and all other joints, it is prone to deterioration and aging.
These are habits that commonly cause pain in the jaw and face. 

Symptoms of TMJ
Key symptoms of TMJ can be mistaken for earaches, ringing in the ears (Tinnitus) and hearing loss. Pain from TMJ can be felt in the joint, behind the ear, and around the sinuses of the skull and face The pain can also radiate to the muscles of the neck and shoulder causing spasms.

TMJ Massage
